Two Yonkers students are facing charges for allegedly threatening to carry out a shooting at Lincoln High School

Police say that they received several reports of school shooting threats circulating on social media.

Police say one of the boys, a 15-year-old student at Lincoln High School, initiated the threats, while another 14-year-old student from a different Yonkers high school shared the messages.

The teens allegedly used text messages, Snapchat and Facebook posts, threatening to carry out a shooting at the high school on Oct. 25.

The teens have been charged with making a terroristic threat.

Police have determined that the threat was not legitimate. Officials say they will be processed as juvenile delinquents in the court system because of their age.

Police say those threats were limited to social media postings only, and they did not find any weapons after searching both of the boys’ homes.
