The Yonkers rescue unfolded, last july, an out-of-control driver slammed into a parked car on Lake Avenue and struck an unsuspecting mom crossing the street with the 8-month-old. The pair were dragged through a storefront before the vehicle finally stopped inside a barber shop.

Good Samaritan bystanders rushed to help along with two Yonkers Police Department officers, who were having breakfast nearby.

The 36-year-old mother suffered a fractured femur and the baby suffered a skull fracture and third-degree burns on her back and foot.
