Man arrested in Yonkers shooting


YONKERS – A Yonkers man is in the hospital in stable condition
with a non-life-threatening wound to his chest and the man who allegedly shot him has been arrested and charged with felony assault.

Police said the men, who know each other, were engaged in an argument that escalated shortly after 2 a.m. on Sunday at 102 Ash Street in Yonkers.

Members of the police Emergency Service Unit and Crisis Negotiating Team made contact with the suspect, later identified as Shareaf Brown, 25, of Yonkers.

Police made contact and were able to place him into custody without incident.

A .380 caliber semi-automatic pistol was recovered.
