YONKERS – No charges have been lodged against the driver of a Jeep that struck and killed a 62-year-old Yonkers man as he crossed Yonkers Avenue in Yonkers shortly after 5:30
Thursday afternoon.
City police found the victim lying on the street. He was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. His name was not immediately made public.
The driver of the vehicle, a 35-year-old Yonkers woman, sustained minor injuries.
Police investigation determined the Jeep was traveling westbound on Yonkers
Avenue and struck the pedestrian as he was crossing the street. The Jeep then struck a parked vehicle and rolled over on its side.
The investigation is ongoing.
