STATEMENT: From Yonkers’ State Assemblyman Nader J. Sayegh, Esq.

Eligibility for reopening will be based on health metrics, which will be monitored by the New York State Department of Health and local health departments. If you’d like to know whether or not your business can begin to reopen, please see the complete listing here.

“I’m pleased to announce that our region, the Mid-Hudson, will begin Phase 1 reopening tomorrow May 26th.

This is a triumphant moment.

Thanks to our cumulative efforts and sacrifice, we have successfully flattened the curve and significantly altered the course of this wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, the war against COVID-19 is not yet won.

I urge all residents to continue to adhere to social distancing protocols to prevent further infection, protect our most vulnerable neighbors, and continue the process towards completely reopening our state and our region.

Businesses will re-open in phases.

Re-opening refers to non-essential businesses and business activities.

Essential businesses and business activities that are already open will remain open.

If successful, our region can expect to move towards Phase 2 in the next few weeks.”
