RIP: Vincent J. Patalano, Retired Yonkers Police Detective


At age 5, upon the death of Vinny Patalano’s mother Florence (Truss) Patalano, he was raised by John and Edna (Truss) Hofer in Ossining, NY

Vincent Patalano (Vinny), 87, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida  died peacefully on June 15, 2020 at his home

Vinny joined the Yonkers, NY Police Department in 1964 and graduated from the NYC Police Academy. He was assigned to the 4 th Precinct in Yonkers and retired in 1987 with the rank of Detective 1 st Grade.

 After graduating from Ossining High School in 1952, Vinny enlisted in the United States Air Force. Vinny served honorably as Airman 1 st Class in the Emergency and Crash Rescue Unit until his discharge in 1956.

On April 16, 1966, Vinny married Lucy Blasetti. They remained married for 46 years before she passed away in 2012.

In the late 1990s Vinny and Lucy moved to the Ocean Summit Condominiums in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Vinny is survived by his son Vincent Patalano, Jr. (Janet) of Croton-on-Hudson, NY and his daughter Dawn Falco (Vincent) of Tuckahoe, NY; grandchildren Vincent and Danielle Patalano and step-grandchildren Michael, Tara and Vincent Falco; sisters Rose Mackin and Rita Annese; nephews Gary and David DiPillo, Anthony and Tommy Manzo, Marc, Mike, Matt and Mitch Patalano, Brian and Sean Mackin, Nick Annese and many more nieces and nephews.
