The official New York State Unemployment Rate In Yonkers Stands At 8%

ALBANY: The City of Mount Vernon has the highest unemployment rate in Westchester County and the Hudson Valley in November, the State Labor Department reported.

Yonkers had the second highest unemployment rate in the In Westchester County and the fourth highest unemployment in the Hudson Valley.

The Town of Mamaroneck, meanwhile, had the lowest rate.

Regionwide, the rate of joblessness was 5.4 percent.

The Town of Monroe had the second highest rate at 9.0 percent, followed by the City of Newburgh at 8.6 percent, the City of Poughkeepsie at 8.2 percent, and the City of Yonkers at 8.0 percent.

Following Mamaroneck’s lowest unemployment rate were the Village of Harrison, and towns of Mount Pleasant and Rye (Port Chester and Rye Brook) all with 4.5 percent joblessness.
