YONKERS, NY – A sense of subdued enthusiasm gripped the ground breaking ceremony on Ridge Hill.

The invited guests presided over a legacy of contention that has culminated after five years’ effort into the beginning of a new imprint on a landscape fallow for many years.

The transformation from neglect to today’s groundbreaking is a culmination of push and shove, my way or the highway, passive and aggressive maneuvers, and more, that has been nurtured over various facets of interest and concern from every corner of Yonkers, and beyond, even impressing our neighbors, the Town of Greenburgh, and Westchester County.

The Ridge Hill Development Project was the catalyst that found some desirous of development, yet wary of many concerns; specifically that of traffic congestion, environmental impact, union employment, and real estate revenue returns on the financial incentives offered Forest City Ratner….
