Two sentenced to state prison for Yonkers burglary spree


WHITE PLAINS – Two Yonkers men were sentenced in Westchester County Court on guilty pleas stemming from a December burglary spree in Yonkers where they targeted apartment building laundry room cash- boxes.

Rajad Daily and Jonathon Echols pleaded guilty Oct. 9, to eight counts each of Burglary in the Second Degree, class C felonies, while jury selection for their trial was underway.

Daily was sentenced as a persistent violent felony offender to 16-years-to-life in state prison. Echols was sentenced as a second violent felony offender to seven years in state prison.

On Dec. 30, 2017, the three men carried out an early morning burglary spree in eight residential apartment buildings across Yonkers.

They targeted the buildings’ laundry rooms and stole cash out of laundry room cash-to-card machines in four out of the eight locations.
