More than 1,000 runners will lace up their sneakers and pound the pavement for the 94th annual Yonkers Marathon

The marathon begins near the city’s Riverfront Library with a tough, hilly course that ends in Downtown Yonkers.

Established in 1907, the marathon is the second oldest marathon in the country. Runners do a double loop run, mainly against the direction of traffic on the streets of Yonkers and scenic Hastings-on-Hudson.

The Yonkers Marathon is a Boston Marathon qualifier, and many runners use it to prepare for the New York City Marathon.
