Police arrest suspect in Tacoma WA. killing of Westchester soldier

Police in Tacoma, Washington, arrested the man they believe killed an Army soldier from Westchester County.

Marshall Marion Wilson is accused of shooting Pfc. Da‘Quan Foster, 22, who Army officials said was from New Rochelle, outside of a restaurant-bar over the weekend.

Wilson was charged with second-degree murder, first-degree assault and first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm.

Foster was with his wife and friends when they walked out of the Latitude 84 Sports Bar & Grill in Tacoma before Foster and Wilson exchanged punches, Pierce County Prosecutor Kathleen Proctor said in the criminal complaint.

Foster‘s wife broke up the fight and were leaving the scene when shots were fired, Proctor wrote in the criminal complaint.

Foster was hit by multiple times and died of his gunshot wounds, the criminal complaint says, and his wife was shot in the hand, according to the complaint.

Police collected 13 9mm casings and four .40-caliber casings from the scene, the complaint says.

“Witnesses describe numerous shots being fired and information gathered from witnesses indicated that there was more than one shooter,” Proctor wrote in the criminal complaint. “Evidence collected at the scene also indicated more than one shooter.”

No other arrests have been made.
