YONKERS: Firefighter applications will be accepted until Jan. 10 at the fire recruitment office and at the Yonkers Civil Service Office, located at 1 Larkin Center on the second floor.

The fire examination will take place on Saturday, April 25.

The starting salary is $71,605.

Candidates must be at least 17 years and 6 months old and have not reached their 29th birthday on the date of the written test.

Additionally, applicants must be a legal Westchester County resident for at least three months immediately preceding the date of the written examination and have a valid New York State class D driver’s license.

A high school diploma or equivalency to that is required.
