REUTERS: Domingo German’s return to Yankees rankles reliever Zack Britton

TAMPA: New York Yankees reliever Zack Britton appears steadfast in his refusal to support starting pitcher Domingo German in his return from an 81-game suspension.

Britton was asked via Zoom on Thursday whether German could be welcomed back to the clubhouse following a suspension for domestic violence.

“That’s a tough question,” Britton said on camera from Tampa as the Yankees open spring training.

“I don’t think he owes anything to me. I think it’s off the field stuff that he needs to take care of. Sometimes you don’t get to control who your teammates are … that’s the situation. I don’t agree with what he did. I don’t think it has any place in the game or off the field at all.”…..
