YONKERS MOVING FORWARD: New Waterfront park Has Assembled Eight Parcels Of Land Including A Bus Depot That Will Be Combined With A County-Owned Parcel To Create A New 3.8-Acre Hudson River Park….

The proposed new waterfront park is north of the Westchester County Joint Sewage Treatment Facility and bordered on the north by American Sugar Refiners.

YONKERS: A new waterfront park is to be built in the city’s Ludlow neighborhood, where Anthony Mauro, once owned a bus depot building.

The park is a joint project of Yonkers and Westchester County.

Westchester county is expected to spend at least $10 million complete the park.

The property was home to an ice plant in 1886, and previously an oil tank farm, before becoming a bus depot.

New York State performed a comprehensive environmental assessment of the property to confirm that there were no issues that would prevent its use as a public park.

Public input will be sought on proposed designs for the park with potential activities at the park could include concerts and events taking place in a space designed for the purpose, a marina, a restaurant and seasonal recreational activities

This is part of the “Ludlow Street Transit Oriented Development Plan.”

Park construction expected to begin in the next year.
