Yonkers annual 9/11 remembrance ceremony was held at the waterfront
Families of the victims joined city officials at the 9/11 waterfront memorial to remember their loved ones. The Police Emerald Society Bagpipes played “Amazing Grace” to open the solemn observance. The names of the city’s 26 victims are on plaques at the memorial alongside a sign that says, “Yonkers will never forget.”

A 6-month-old baby from Yonkers was found dead Monday morning in the Claremont section of the Bronx
First responders say they were called to a home on Webster Avenue for reports of an unresponsive infant. Officials say the baby girl was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. The cause of death is not yet known. So far there have been no arrests.

An NYPD sergeant has been suspended after going on an alleged shoplifting spree at Macy’s In Yonkers
Police say instead of paying, Eva Pena stuffed about $350 worth of items in her purse at a Macy’s in Yonkers. Authorities say Pena didn’t get far. As she tried to leave the store, she was arrested. Pena now faces petit larceny charges and was suspended without pay from her job as an NYPD sergeant.
